You are gorgeous Turt!
Totally ready for Halloween.
I can’t stop watching this. Really, click the photo.
Its the way the tortie shows the cat the tuft of fur it bit off the cats ass that makes this art.

Slow to get started but T3 the tortoise is a mum at age 90.
And Galapagos tortoise T3 is also a cougar: the two possible fathers at Dubbo Western Plains Zoo are 40 and 41. It is the first time a Galapagos tortoise – the fifth longest-living animals in the world, with some being recorded as reaching 177 years of age – has been bred in captivity in Australasia.
T3′s baby, named NJ, will be alive long after every keeper, and the youngest human visitor to Dubbo Western Plains Zoo, has passed away.
NJ was born in early March but the zoo won’t know its gender for five years.
It will take NJ that long to reach just 30cm and decades more before achieving an adult size of around 300kg.
NJ is not yet on public display, but there will be a century and a half or longer to see the new addition to the zoo.
Time for us to go back in our shells. The spotlight was fun, but once @TMZ starts calling, it is time to say good night and good luck.
So I read the saddest story today on my tortoise mailing list. Tortoise twins! Twin hatchlings, one normal sized & alive and one tiny & deceased, were born to a list member. When torts are born, they hatch with the yolk attached and absorb it for nutrients. Though its sad that one didn’t make it, I am in awe of how small and perfectly formed the little twin is.

LOS ANGELES – Two Japanese nationals have been arrested at LAX on federal animal smuggling charges for allegedly trying to smuggle turtles and tortoises into the U.S.Authorities seized 55 reptiles which were concealed in snack food boxes inside a suitcase.
And at that very moment I was boarding a plane at LAX myself. I would have gladly stayed and started my tortoise rescue with these little ones. Hope they get sent to better habitats.
Thanks to @karolynprg for the heads up on this breaking news!
Tortoises, much like me, wanna stay in bed on a cold day. Can’t say I blame her.
This is sad news for tort owners and lovers in the UK and around the world. My experience with Joy was through the tortoisefriends mailing list where she provided myself and many new tort owners with priceless first hand knowledge on the proper care and housing of our new tortoise family members. I learned through the list, and through countless stories from others, that she has provided a sanctuary for thousands of abandoned and confiscated tortoises in her home over the years. The sanctuary itself provided refuge for tortoises left in the hands of the RSPCA as well as those confiscated by customs etc. It was a self sustaining project that provided a safe and quality home for these needy animals by inviting visitors for a small fee and providing them with education about these creatures she has devoted her life to. The cost of a zoo license is too much when combined with maintaining the quality services these animals require and so the sanctuary will have to close its doors. I have no doubt that Joy will somehow find or provide the best care for those tortoises currently occupying the sanctuary but I am saddened that there is one less place for the future tortoises in need of appropriate care.
