First you need to know the what species, and be sure its a turtle or a tortoise. Then look at the tail or the bottom of the shell.
I’m bored and got nothing else to post, so here’s a pic of a friendly tortoise I met on vacation in Florida 3 weeks ago. I think his name was Spunky or something.

A replica of the giant tortoise Methuselah was stolen from a Spearfish home sometime last weekend. The Spearfish Police Department is currently investigating the case reported Monday, and officers are requesting the public’s assistance in recovering the statue.
