It’s Happening! Follow  @MarineLifeCtr ‘s #Ride2Release as 17 rehabilitated sea turtles make their way to Fl for release today, march 6th 2015.

After a record 32 cold-stunned Kemp Ridley sea turtles were brought into the National Marine Life Center this winter, 14 lucky shells are on their way back to freedom!

~14 hours ago, the lucky 14 said goodbye to their 13 friends still in recovery and were loaded into a van heading to New Smyrna Beach, FL, where they will be released later today.

A midnight stop was made at the National Aquarium, for a stretch break, to lubricate the turtles shells. and to pick up 3 more turtles ready to head home!

It’s an incredible journey, and incredible work by the national marine life center has done, especially when faced with such an incredible increase in cold sound stranded turtles.

I can’t stop watching the updates and you can too. Follow the #Ride2Release tonight and learn about each turtle that has been rehabbed and will be released
