Sad news for Bowsers family, who desperately want him home, but another example for tortoise doubters – they have personalities, know their owners, and if cared for as they should, live long happy lives with their families. Here’s hoping Bowser is found soon and this other tortoise makes it back home too.
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) –
It’s the next chapter in the tale of the missing tortoise from Porterville. Bowser, a 150–pound tortoise was stolen from his owner’s yard in August. A few weeks later a tortoise was seized in Los Banos. Bowser’s owners said that this was their tortoise and they took him home.
However, the Merced County Animal Services Manager says that the tortoise found in Los Banos is not Bowser. It turns out that tortoise has a different personality.
Animal Control says it thinks they’ve found the owner of the imposter tortoise. However, that person will have to show proof that they own him before they get the tortoise back.
Unfortunately this means Bowser is still missing.
