HELP!

mynobleconquest:

I will be moving back in with my parents soon, and I have decided to get a personal pet.
However, I cannot decide between a ferret, a ball python, or a turtle.

Can someone please help enlighten me on the pros and cons of these animals?? To be honest I don’t want something high maintenance being full time school and employed, but I definitely want something that likes attention.
Thanks in advance!

Turtles are awesome but they require a significant investment to set up and if cared for properly, they will live for a long long time. They are incredible animals but if you’re unsure about how much time/money/energy you can commit I’d say no turtle for you.
Its not only the requirements but the fact that these guys can’t paw at you from inside a terrarium/tortoise table to tell you you’re doing it wrong. They let you know in much more subtle ways and you have to be paying attention.
Its not that you can neglect any animal.. but these guys in particular you have to keep a close eye on to make sure you’re not missing something.
That said, Zoya pants is my little angel. She is a support tortoise and gives me reason to wake up every morning when the pain and general lifestyle of being chronically ill seems to be fighting to keep me from doing so I totally get your thought process and so appreciate that you’re reaching out before you make the decision. you rock! I know whichever decision you make you’ll do so with a good head on your shoulders and you will both be winners in the end <3

While not your typical support animal, Shelly has brought joy and love into the lives of individuals who truly needed it.  Non-traditional therapy pets/animals make as much a difference and we can’t forget it.

I definitely won’t. Zoya won’t let me forget it (and I am thankful for that every day. )

BIG thanks to everyone who took the time to vote for Zoya and I! We won! Even more exciting, people are talking about non traditional therapy pets. Among the winners there were two tortoises! How cool is that? Also an awesome bunny and a kitty that looks like it just might have the side eye down pat. Very exciting!

Thank you thank you thank you! <3

Zoya and I entered a contest being held by ‘Thats My Pet’ to win a beautiful portrait and cards of this photo! More importantly, this month’s contests focus on therapy pets and we were so excited to see a category for non-traditional therapy pets we couldn’t resist.

For those who don’t know, Zoya pants is a registered therapy pet. I have multiple sclerosis and she helps me maintain a routine, give me a focus when things get bad, fight depression, and cheers me up with a snuggle and a side eye on terrible health days.

So click the picture or this link and like the post to vote for us. We will be eternally grateful for your vote. Competition is steep! Not only are there some adorable kitties in the running but also a giant bunny and another tortoise (we may have had to vote against ourselves because that sulcata is wearing a pretty dress).

Anyway, Take a look and like us! Spread the word too! Zoya promises to remember you when the #turtpocalypse comes. 🙂

Sorry to all that follow all 3 of my blogs, you might see this a few times hah.
