Dandelion

I think all of us, especially our tortie friends, can identify a dandelion when we see one! 🙂 Dandelions are fine to feed in moderation (ie. two to three times a week) but can act as a diuretic so be careful not to feed too much of this. I found dandelion throughout winter last year 🙂 A firm favourite with all my plant eating animals 🙂 The stems are also useful for giving medicine to a fussy tortoise! Put the medicine inside the hollow stems and simply feed them. I found it easiest to put the medicine within the stem just behind the flower head and feed the irresistible flower – they’ll eat the stem too without realising it 🙂

yes! this is great info and advice. Had not thought of filling the stem. brilliant!

Zoya would like to add “Ahem. nope. thats not a dandelion.. keep on walking.. *noms them all while you walk away*”
