this little guy looks like a bobble head turtle!
Thanks to Zoya’s auntie D who took this picture while at the national zoo!
I was alerted to the presence of a tortoise about 2 blocks away from where I’m staying in LA… and sure enough I found a new friend! @wholegrainlofat and I went to investigate further and Ms. Moser the tortoise (as we later found out she’s called, when her owner came out to find out why these crazy ladies were trying to infiltrate his back yard). She had been basking earlier that day and when I approached the fence and tried to talk at her she wandered on over and gave some friendly poses and showed off her beautiful shell. Turns out shes about 50 years old, lived with the current owner for 25 years after living with her first owner for at least that long.. Isn’t she beautiful??!?!
Something magical about random tortoise encounters like this one. They really are fantastic creatures.
TWO TINY TORTOISES: AN UNDYING CONVERSATION 21
No tiny head, don’t jump! you have so many more years ahead of you. Pain is not permanent. 🙁
listen to your narrator tortoise! Don’t do it!
That shell is a work of art.
