TORTOISE PSA: PLEASE READ

Pneumonia is currently spreading in California tortoises.
IF YOUR TORTOISE BEGINS TO BUBBLE AT THE NOSE OR HAVE A RUNNY NOSE, TAKE THEM TO A VET IMMEDIATELY. Tortoises will not show symptoms until the disease is already very serious, but if any of your tortoises stop eating them you might want to keep them isolated.
This had already claimed three of our tortoises. We will most likely have to put them down. Our other two have been able to recover as of now.
The only think that will really help is putting them on baytril for ten days.
EVEN THIS IS NOT GUARANTEED TO HELP.
You also should not let your tortoises hibernate if they have symptoms, as their bodies will not hold up.
If the ten days of baytril doesn’t help, do not attempt to continue with shots, as your tortoises kidneys could shut down.
