Turtle Update!

I am no expert on gravid #turtles. Can anyone help this #RES humom out?

my thoughts? Check and make sure all the temperatures are warm enough and the humidity in your enclosure right. Does she have a nesting area and has she used it at all?

I wish I could help more. Definitely watch her activity level and if she’s still eating. If she has stopped eating and starts to have trouble moving or has trouble with her back legs, definitely take her to the vet ASAP. You don’t want egg binding to happen. Its a life threatening issue.

hugs to you and your shell babies and their babies 🙂

So my RES laid 5 eggs today. Unfortunately 2 of them cracked. So now we are incubating the remaining 3 and also unfortunately we do not know how long the eggs have been in water. 2 of them appear to have drowned while the other looks extremely healthy. But it seems as if my turtle in retaining 2-4 eggs. My poor baby is probably uncomfortable and refuses to lay the eggs. I am going to take her to the vet tomorrow to see if there is anything that I can do.

Just thought you would all like to know how everything is going!

If you guys have any suggestions as to how I can help her lay the eggs I would be extremely grateful and would give you my life and 5 goats… (not really but I would find something to give you) 😀
